I watched Alice wake up in the field. I liked fields. They're pretty and soft and they remind me of what the world used to be. Back before the Evils. When daemons and humans didn't need to aide one another in combat. I sighed, sending a breeze through the plane. Alice shivered and glanced around, her eyes narrowed.
Should I take human form? It's been so long since I've even SEEN a human. I had forgotten how fragile their bodies looked. If I don't take human form I'll scare her? Maybe.. I shook it off and took human form, the clothes from a much older time, from when I had last seen my previous master. I shook my head. I couldn't think of that now. I had work to do. I headed towards my new master, the one who would use me in combat.

"Alice! Over here!" A deep voice called my name. I whipped my head around to see a very tall looking boy smiling a little ways away from me. Silently I walked towards him, hands on the knife I kept hidden in my left boot. How did taming a daemon work again? Dad taught me this! I have to remember!
"Who are you?! How do you know my name?" I asked, approaching the daemon. It smiled, catching my eye.
"I don't have a name. You get to name me." Was it trying to trick me? To eat my soul? Grass and wheat crunched under my feet as I came right up the the otherworldly spirit. I glared at it's smiling face.
   "Well what type are you?"
It stared at me some more. It glanced around the setting sunset, looking at the clouds. "I like clouds.." It muttered softly. "They're so pretty." I scowled. Suddenly, it grabbed my hand, dragging me down the ground to look at clouds with it. "Look! That one is just like a soft bunny!" It yelled suddenly. This daemon.. It reminded me of someone. But who?
"Daemon, we need to talk business." I said, pushing it away and standing up. It glanced at me, and sighed.
"What is there to talk about? You get to use me in battle now! Give me a name already!" He yelled at me excitedly. "We're gonna defeat Evils! We are totally gonna be the best!" It smiled. So it was mine huh.. No fight? Weird..
I glanced around the field, and into the deep setting sun here. It looked like it came straight out of a book, it was so picturesque. I sighed. I guess it did need a name, after all, I can't keep referring to it as an it. But what to name it..
"Caywyr. Ryan mentioned that it was a cool name earlier. It was one of his video games or something." I spoke randomly. Caywyr? I could hardly even pronounce that. But it seemed to approve. But then again, it was hard to tell, because it was always smiling. Stupid thing..
"Let's go then shall we?" It grabbed my hand, and I was back in the other room, with Lann, Yanuquie, and Ryan. Ms. Fayore smiled at me. She motioned me forward to her mahogany desk. I could feel the card of my daemon biting into the palm of my hand. I wasn't going to look at it, not yet. It would ruin the suspense. I wonder what kind of daemon I got..
I handed my card carefully over to her. She smiled brightly at me and then looked down at my card. Instantly her face paled over several shades. "Don't let anyone see this. Come see me after this is over. Go take a seat." She whispered very seriously into my ear. I nodded and glanced at it as I sat down. The moment I saw it, I shoved it in my pocket.
Two, piercing gold and silver eyes stared back at me, from a very gold and silver snake like body. Two claws wrapped around an orb of light, and a long, spiked tail framed the picture. My daemon that represented me was none other than the Celestial Dragon. Caywyr was a dragon. The Celestial Dragon.
